Joe Jusko |
Cover artist Joe Jusko is known for his realistic and detailed fantasy, pin-ups and cover illustrations. He painted the 1992 Marvel Masterpieces trading cards, which is credited with initiating the painted trading card boom of the late 1990s.
Jusko, born in 1959, grew up in New York and attended the High School of Art and Design, graduating in 1977 with the DC Comics Award of Excellence in Cartooning. From there, he went straight into the commercial illustration profession. Since then, Jusko has worked for nearly every major comic book publisher, for which he produced covers as well as interior art. He has painted every major character created by Marvel Comics, including the Hulk and the Punisher. The Kid Domino Museum proudly features a sketch and finished, full-color illustration which the Mann brothers commissioned from Jusko in 2012. It hangs in the loft area of the museum next to the Frank Frazetta collection. For more about Joe Jusko, please visit his website at www.joejusko.com. |
